Editor's take
Our verdict
A mid-weight Talaria dirt bike with a swappable 2700 Wh battery, sitting between the XXX and the Sting Pro MX5, for private land or tracks only.
Who it's for
Riders with private land or club track access who want something between the Talaria XXX and Sting Pro MX5. It isn't a bicycle and can't be registered, so it is off-road only, not for roads, paths or other public land. No minimum rider age is stated.
Alternatives
The Talaria XXX Pro is lighter at a similar price, and the Rerode R1 has the same peak power with 4-piston hydraulic brakes.
Strengths
- Lowest listed price of the adult e-motos here, as a pre-order sale
- 4000 W rated, 8000 W peak
- Swappable 2700 Wh battery with a claimed 85 km at a steady 40 km/h
- 19 inch wheels front and rear
Drawbacks
- Off-road only: not registrable
- Brakes aren't specified
- Torque figures differ between the distributor and PEDL
- Sold out at PEDL; the distributor price is a full-payment pre-order

Legal status
Where can you ride it?
- Bicycle rules
- Not a bicycle
- Its power and speed are far beyond the 250 W, 25 km/h pedelec limits, so bicycle rules don't apply.
- Road registration
- Off-road only
- Stated by the maker or its Australian distributor. Source: pedl.com.au.
An unregistered e-moto can only be ridden on private land with the owner's permission, or at a track or park that allows it. Riding one on roads, footpaths, bike paths or parks risks fines, and in some states the bike can be seized.
Note: PEDL and the AU distributor both sell it as an off-road electric dirt bike. It is rated at 4,000 W and has a twist throttle, so it is well outside pedelec limits. Neither page claims ADR approval or registration.
