Editor's take
Our verdict
Husqvarna's version of the 2.12 kids' platform, with a walking-pace mode and a 33 km/h full mode.
Who it's for
Parents of taller, fast-growing children sized between the EE 2 and EE 3; Husqvarna states no age range. It is an off-road motor vehicle, not a bicycle or toy, so it can't be ridden on roads, paths or parks, only on private land with permission or at a club track.
Alternatives
The KTM SX-E 2.12 and GASGAS MC-E 2.12 are the same platform at the same price, and the CFMOTO CFX-2E is cheaper with a stated age guide of 6 to 10.
Strengths
- Three modes: walking pace, medium and full at 33 km/h
- Rollover sensor and wrist lanyard cut power
- Rear hub motor with no chain, 27 kg
- Removable battery, 0 to 80% in 35 minutes
Drawbacks
- Not registrable: private land or tracks only
- Battery capacity and range aren't stated
- No age range is stated
- Dearer than the CFMOTO CFX-2E and CFX-5E

Legal status
Where can you ride it?
- Bicycle rules
- Not a bicycle
- Its power and speed are far beyond the 250 W, 25 km/h pedelec limits, so bicycle rules don't apply.
- Road registration
- Off-road only
- Stated by the maker or its Australian distributor. Source: husqvarna-motorcycles.com.
An unregistered e-moto can only be ridden on private land with the owner's permission, or at a track or park that allows it. Riding one on roads, footpaths, bike paths or parks risks fines, and in some states the bike can be seized.
Note: Kids off-road motocross bike; private land or tracks only, not road registrable.
